Another great mess left by Labour that will never get swept up.
/// Britain experienced the largest influx since the Saxons during the 13 years of the last Government with migrants arriving in the UK at a rate of almost one a minute.///

What Labour have done on a larger scale is that enacted by Dame Shirley Porter who removed working class families from Westminster in order to achieve a Tory majority. She was fined about £25m and left the country to live in Israel.
What people want to know now who was actually responsible for this 4m+ increase in immigration and whether they will be charged with the offence?

As I go round the UK I am alarmed at the level of immigration that I see, boosted by a high level of illegal immigrants I guess.
I live on the edge of Birmingham and going into Birmingham is like visiting India or Pakistan (or Iraq), or a combination of all 3.
I visited my mother at the weekend and she lives in Pinner in North West London. When I lived there as a child 40 or so years ago it was a totally "white" area and a pleasure to live in and visit.
It has now been invaded by mostly Asians and much of the nearby High St in Eastcote has been dragged down to the level of a 3rd world country. Newsagents with tacky hand written signs plastered all over their windows and doors, cant they do anything with any quality.
And over the weekend I went to see Fulham play football. We got out at Hammersmith station, and the ethnics outnumbered the "whites" by about 80 to 20. Again the shops in the streets nearby were awful, bandly maintained and scruffy.
It is such a shame to go round the UK and see the effect immigration is having, dragging parts of the UK down to third world standards.
People used to have a pride in their shops (and indeed their houses) but many immigrants make little or no effort to maintain their shops or houses, dragging an area down very quickly and encouraging the "whites" to move out (white flight).
Tell me an area that has been improved by immigrants.
It is all very sad.

VHG this rapid increase in immigration is the equivalent of 4 new Birminghams. As 95% of immigrants head for the major towns and cities we must expect the same to happen to other areas in the UK. Whats easily forgotten is the children of these immigrants is also disproportionate so making the problem even worse.
Yawn
Do you like to go to a hospital and be seen by a doctor or nurse?
Do you like your vegetables that are picked in the country side?
guess what - if people don't have the qualifications or are too lazy to do a job, someone has to do it - that means that you have to import labour.
VHG - if you think that a poorly sign written shop or house in need or repair is a sign of a third world country, you really are naive.
I am curious as to who you blame for the 'ghettos' around Glasgow - are these those Indian / Pakistani / Iraqi people as well?

Oneeye you have hit the nail on the head but not squarely, it is not the fact that people are too lazy to work, it is the fact that our governments have for years made it so easy to sit around and do nothing while getting plenty of money for fags and booze. If you work hard all your life and then get made redundant you are entitled to F all (I know as I am in that position) where as doing nothing and paying nothing towards society gets you thousands in hand outs, this is also true for our beloved immigrants/asylum seekers. You cant just blame labour, it is all governments over the past 40 years that have compounded the problem and left the working class family to rot in poverty....
Had previous Governments approached immigration into this country in the correct manner after WW2, and kept it down to a sensible and need-able level, we would now have a very prosperous country with its inhabitants sharing in this prosperity.
But due to the way they approached it, we have now seen all types enter this country from the academic ones and the skilled ones, down to the masses that have come from some of the humblest living standards of the world.
Yes some immigration can only be good for this country, but the flip side of the coin is the fact that these economic immigrants, with their ever increasing families only take from the prosperity of the country, meaning that others have to share thus bringing their own standard of living down.
This uncontrolled immigration has also been a huge strain on the whole infrastructure, schools, housing, NHS etc, etc. added to all this an increase in all types of crime.
Those who are old enough to have witnessed all these change are the only ones qualified to remark on them.

As stupid a comment as " you can't have an opinion on childbirth if you are not a woman" or "you don't understand racism if you are not coloured"
The fact of the matter is that there are a lot of old people who have seen changes in their lives and like to blame 'those foreigners' not understanding that society is and always has changed - Glasgow being a prime example.
How do you account for the high knife crime and drug related crimes there when there are very few immigrants?
Try not reading the press for a day or two and go outside with your eyes open. It is not as dangerous or as terrible as you think. There is not a foreigner with a knife around the corner, chatting to a paedophile who wants to steal your children.
The vast majority of the 3 million are law abiding citizens, just as the vast majority of White British people should not be judged on the actions of Harold Shipman, Ian Huntley, or the Kray twins

So what age do you have to be to become qualified to comment on any changes. 35, 45, 55 etc...?
Changes happens all the time, it is how we adapt to it, how we view it, how we can work with it that is important.

Yes I knew when I typed that, that some would just pick up on that one sentence, without taking into account the rest of the post.
Oneeyedvic, Just because you had made your own interpretation of it, and found that you did not agree with, there was no need to go as far to say that it was 'stupid'
To use your two examples, /// you can't have an opinion on childbirth if you are not a woman"///
I did not say 'have an opinion' I said 'qualified to remark on' yes you can have an "opinion" on childbirth", but you are not "qualified to remark on" how it is to have a baby, since you have not been through that experience.'
/// "you don't understand racism if you are not coloured" ///
Once again you can have an opinion on racism, but you are not qualified to understand it, if you are not coloured.
Regarding Glasgow I am not 'qualified' (there's that difference once again) to remark on it's crime, simply because I have never been there to witness the changes since immigration.
/// go outside with your eyes open. It is not as dangerous or as terrible as you think.///
I do go outside with my eyes open, and it is as terrible as I think it is in some areas. Regarding dangerous, yes it is take the number of shootings and stabbings almost on a daily basis, I may not have witnessed them myself but they have been reported in the papers, are you saying that they are lying?
/// There is not a foreigner with a knife around the corner, chatting to a paedophile who wants to steal your children.///
Try telling that to one of the innocent victims that have been attacked on their way home. Or to some parents that dare not let their children out alone.

Since the subject is mass immigration, perhaps to be qualified to remark on the changes this has had on this county, would be to have lived through the before and since period.
One can read as many history books as one likes, (and these can change vastly according to the author's view point) but one cannot improve on the experiences of a person who was actually there.
No good asking someone born in 1960, what was it like to live during WW2?

<Yes agree the post was referring to the last 13 years, but this only added to the already mass immigration problem, which has changed the face of Britain over the last 60years.>
Lol - so unless you are in your 70's you can't really comment on it?
Oh, but what about those immigrants who came over 60 years ago,are they allowed to comment on the more recent influx. After all they are immigrants!
You are good for a laugh oldgit if not much else!!

Why can't some just join in a debate without the need to be abusive, and still not have their answer deleted by the Ed?

I think you will find that even those that came over in the late 50s, will remark on the changes since then, and have the right and experience to do so.
