We`ll approach the problem by hitting people in their pockets as usual. Petrol will go up, flight fuel surcharges will increase and the supermarkets will rub their hands in glee as they relish an excuse to put their prices up.

Just because you are an illegal immigrant does not mean you can't claim benefits. There are approx 150,000 doing so:

watched the news like you posted anotheroldgit - I think the thing that stood out was that she was an EU national (married to a dutch citizen) therefore presumably her children where EU nationals and as such were protected by EU law so couldn't be removed from school even though the parents financial position changed... the circumstances are such that i don't think this represents much of a loophole or floodgates issue??

Anyway back to the question regarding rising fuel prices - my guess would be that the british gov would tend to tax everything in sight and the majority of people on the answerbank would blame immigrants?
