If you live in Scotland you get,

Free Eye tests

Free personal care in old age

Free Uni. tuition fees

Free prescriptions

--------------------------------

If you live in England

You pay around £19 for an eye test

Pensioners have to pay full residential care costs if they own assets of more than £23,000.

Students face paying up to £9,000 a year.

You pay £7.20 per item for perscriptions

How is then we get all the immigrants?

You dodnt get free scripts.
According to the Daily Mail they are about to be introduced up there Dris.
Free scripts yet was what I was going to post.
Why havent you highlighted that scripts have been free in Wales and NI for a while now?
Sqad can I ask what recent personal experiences you base your dislike with Scotland on?
I am always amazed too when you go into Scotland how much better their roads are, and their public facilities are also better. I was amazed the first time I went there how much affluence there was.

We are the poor relations!!

Something is very wrong somewhere.

I wouldn't mind living there, Sqad.
The price has been gradually reduced for some time now -its been known for at least 2yrs that this was going to happen on 1st April so its old news -not like the DM to stir it is it?
Dris.......I didn´t say I disliked it.

But let us say that I do dislike it, for the sake of the argument.............the weather.....much too cold, wet and snowy for sqad......and that is not based on "recent experiences."
Lottie the roads are in a bad way at the moment with the severe frosts -its going to cost us billions to rectify it.
Its is a nice place to live though :)

What I dont get time and again is the continual griping about what Scotland has why not continual griping that the English should et their fingers out and be pr active in ste
same applies here regarding old age care. If you have assets you must pay for your care in homes it is not free for everybody. (scotland)
I thought it was something to do with with the population ratio with England per sq.miles (something along those lines anyway). There are more people living in England and probably a lot more people claiming benefits etc.

But then again I've probably got that wrong (no change there).
....surrounded by drunken Scots....almost a foreign language....awful food....bitten by midges.....

(This is a JOKE btw...I love Scotland)
Blooming lappy touch sensitive today thats twice submitted before id finished/rectified.

Fair do's Sqad - must got to Specsavers -sure ive seen flippant remarks from you re Scotland ;)

We are multi cultural here as well AOG -may surprise you to learn ;)
Dris...what does REALLY p1ss me off is University Education Scotland is totally free to ALL students from European countries EXCEPT England and English student have to pay the fees.
