I've learnt from Sky News today is International Womens Day. When can we expect International Mens Day to redress the balance?

I asked the exact same question here:

I'm free next Wednesday...
The same sort of thing annoys me when we have "Black History Month".

If that is not racist I dont know what is.

And if we "whites" call people black it seems we are only noticing them by their colour, but it is ok to have the Black Police Federation and the Black Gospel choir.
Come on - who wants to mention the MOBOs next?

Sheesh...!
And thebfollowing question is no doubt marching towards this thread with I'll-deserved confidence:

"Why is there 'Gay Pride'? Can you imagine the fuss if someone tried to out on a 'Straight Pride' festival?"
-- answer removed --
There is "Gay Pride" because it's jolly.

But it's just called "Pride" now.
Maybe the public have been breathing in too much benzine when filling up with petrol and we all know what that leads to!
In our house, every day is women's day...
I'm thinking of starting a "Leave the Seat up Day"
I think these said days are a farce. Just as, Valentines, Mothers Day and Fathers Day. I myself, do not need a dedicated day to show someone that I appreciate or value them. There could be a national dustbin day and there would be thousands to jump on the bandwagon and send me a card celebrating it...... bah humbug!
Yes it all does seem to go against the grain, but if it makes someone happy then I have no objection. Being a middle aged white male I'm bottom of the pile for 'special days' but to be honest I'm not bothered.
Who makes these "Days" up? i.e "Non-Smoking Day",etc.
I heard on the radio that women do 90% of the world's work for 10% of the salary, and own 1% of the property.
"I heard on the radio that women do 90% of the world's work for 10% of the salary, and own 1% of the property."

I heard that women believe everything they hear on the radio...
and I believe you have your head stuck somewhere up your backside ;o)
mmph mmph mmph
I rest my case ;o)
I didn't even know it was IWM day until I logged on last night and saw the logo on Google - I didn't feel very international yesterday (sorry mates)
Well it has passed now boxy, so it's back to being unappreciated, underpaid and overworked...
