What have happened to Egypt and Tunisia

Since the protests and resignations of the leaders I did hear that nothing have changed. Were these protests and deaths all in vain? What is the latest news and will the current situation benefit these countries.

Obviously you don't read/watch the news or you'd know that the first act of the new regime in Egypt was to dissolve the hated and feared Internal Security Service.

Also you haven`t read MY question as I asked about Tuisia as well or don`t you know, you haven`t read about Tunisia yet either have you.
