It used to be quite a decent place to live in the 60's, 70's & 80's and now it just looks like a massive urban ghetto.

Is this a joke?
Why is this in jokes or am I missing something?
It's just one in a series currently appearing on Answerbank, Tilly.
Thank you, Douglas. I shall ignore it then.

Do you think your screwed up feelings over your heritage and your uncertain religious convictions may cause you to think like this?
It was a dump in the 70s, and not much better in the 80s - I know, I was there. The whole place was an endless building site with nothing ever getting finished.

It's now a bright, vibrant city centre with loads of good places to eat and drink.

The cultural side is in many ways better than London (certainly more accessible) - Symphony Hall, the New Library, the lovingly restored Town Hall - and the Museum and Art Gallery is stupendous.
Is it no longer like this then?
Did you live there, anon? I lived there in the 70s and 80s and it was a great place - I'd move back if the circumstances arose.
Kojak sure knew how to 'big up' a place, didn't he?
