What's cooking in the galley starboard now? Fried eggs, bacon, home fries, and mugs of coffee I hope. I'll be swaggering across the gangplank shortly, and don't forget to pipe me aboard!:)

Morning stewey, how the weather your way, we're sweltering
Question Author
Sweltering, seekeerz: where are you? Minus twenty-three here with the wind chill factor: however, I have the windows closed so it's not too bad.
>>>I'll be swaggering across the gangplank shortly

A typo there surely, Stewey? (Shouldn't 'swaggering' read 'staggering'?)

Good evening Stewey, good afternoon Seekerz and (when he gets up) good morning WBM! Since I've not been to bed yet (so I don't know whether it's the end of Friday night or the start of Saturday morning) I'm not sure what greeting is appropriate for me!

Since we seem to be exchanging weather reports, it'll be another windy day again here today

just like every day for weeks and for most of the week to come.
>>>where are you?

I think the koala in Seekerz' avatar is a bit of a clue, Stewey!

I much prefer the cold and snow to the high winds and floods that some of you are experiencing. Chris, I just knew that some one would question my use of swaggering:)

Well, the ex Royal Mail van used by the Jamaican post office in the background of my picture, and the bottle of Red Stripe in my hand, and Chico the Montego Bay parrot might lead you to think that I'm somewhere also.
It's not been particularly wet around here, Stewey:

I live on the edge of the white bit on the eastern bulge of the UK in that diagram, so our rainfall is around average for the time of year. It's mainly the black areas that are experiencing real problems with excessive rain but many coastal areas are being battered by storms. This is the track on an important rail route

>>>. . . might lead you to think that I'm somewhere also

Most people think that I'm 'on another planet' anyway, Stewey ;-)
And good morning to you, Chris...you're not getting washed away then .... Hope you're not feeling left out !!

Wish someone would leave us out of the current loop, we've got three more days of this early in the week as well...roll on winter !
Question Author
That is a fearsomely furious sea! The coldness and the snow are a little more sedate. Anyway, time to unroll the hammock...Goodnight:)
Goodnight, Stewey.

>>>Hope you're not feeling left out !!

I'm definitely not feeling left out, Seekerz. These horrid winds tend to keep me awake all night and they might well explain why I've had no TV reception for the past week. (My aerial was already leaning at a precarious angle but I suspect that the wind may have ripped it away from the cable. I can't get an aerial fitter in until the wind drops!).

Anyway (wind permitting) I'm going to try to get some sleep now, so I'll wish you goodnight (or good afternoon anyway), Seekerz.
Good night, Chris, sleep well, and you too, stewey
Morning stewey, chris and seekz xxx

Sorry I missed you stewy and chris. I've been for a stroll while it's not raining. It's going to though.

Rugby today, weather permitting.
Good morning Skipper and all who sail with you.
Wind howling 'round the Gables but no rain here.
Looking forward eagerly to the game today. xx
Morning ells. xxx Not raining at the moment. I'm going to enjoy the match. It's going to be a good one between two good teams that both need to win.

How are you this morning? :o}
All good here Skip thanks.
Two great teams I agree, no predictions, but I expect a fabulous game of rugby.xx

Me too. I wouldn't like to even try to predict the outcome. I'll have my green shirt with the shamrock on though! :o}
Morning boaty and all, lovely day here....not ! V hot, getting humid before a change, then more of the same thru the week !

Are you under water yet, boaty or just nearly blown away ? Xxx
Me too Skip, Himself wears a tatty old teeshirt with 'Waiting for Irelands Call' written across the front of it. lol....in his dreams!!.
