Walking into town yesterday I was admiring the banks of crocus and daffodils in the civic gardens. There were flower heads scattered everywhere But one patch was flattened as though someone had rolled over them. Why do people do this?

because they don't appreciate what you do.
If you hate yourself deep down you can't believe in anything good happening, so when something good is presented to you it has to be damaged or destroyed to prove that you are correct about yourself. Sadly, human nature.
Drunk?
or a gardener not being careful, no idea
I don't think drunk people become destructive (unless they fall face first into the flower bed).

Horrid people are destructive.
That's what I meant, Jayne - someone may have fallen in it.
You have to be really drunk to fall into a flower bed, lol
Yep!
i did, but didn't wreck the flowers as there weren't any, just a lot of nasty weeds and dirt.
I'm visualising the imprint of a face in the soil.

:0)
and i didn't come up smelling of roses.
Yuck!!
Some drunks are capable of anything I'm afraid, especially the youngsters, they will vandalise just for the kick they get from it.
had to send everything to the dry cleaners, lucky i was so far gone as i might have hurt myself, fell backwards, whilst taking a breather, that did it.
Aren't flower beds health and safety equipment for the merry?
RATTER, I think people who do horrid things when they're drunk are people who were horrid to start with.

Nice people, when they are drunk, do nice things, like hanging on their friend's shoulder and slurring "you're the best friend in the whole wide, wide world, I really love you you know, you're the best friend ever, ever, ever."

Not talking from experience. Just saying.

I love emmie's slapstick drunken flower bed fall.
Depends what's planted there, Frank.

Not roses!
Good point, forgot about the spikes!
this was a little bit of waste ground with a foot high wall, i sat and then was gone, rather Vicar of Dibley.
wasn't pie eyed, but i fell in a whole raft of nettles once, the o/h and i were rambling, as you do, i was looking closely at something and slipped.
