The Sale

it was the first day of the big sale at a local department store. rumours of the sale (and some advertising in the local paper) were the reason that a huge line had formed outside the front doors hours before the 0830 opening time.

A small man pushed his way through to the front of the line, only to be pushed back amid loud and colourful curses. on his second attempt he was punched square in the jaw and assaulted several times more before being manhandled all the way back to the end of the line.

he got up, wiped the blood off his face and brushed down his clothes - then turned to the woman at the back and said

"that does it, i'm not opening the store today"
