There are about a third of a million camels in Australia and they are prolific breeders. The problem is not only that they drink a lot of water. dont any of you have memories - a gurl decided to go across Oz on a camel around 30 y ago. She was met by a group of aborigines who determined that she would die unless one went with her ! Their view of the landscope involves humans and a dead woman would be an unnecessary blot ( no - really) - and they didnt want to spoil it
So one loped along with madarm on a camel until she met civilisation - a homestead farm where the wife said
what about a nice cup of tea ?
the aborigine went back to his family at a rendy-vous they had agreed three weeks previously
doesnt anyone remember?
