Delivered by the pharmacy? If you do, do they let you know when they are going to deliver?

Yes I do and no they don't.
I would have thought so. At a guess they's go by the due date on the prescription. I keep being offered but it makes me feel lazy as the pharmacy is on my street. I should do it really then I can't forget to put my prescription in.
Yes and no
Mine will tell me the day but not the time. I've had them turn up at 8pm!
up to them, I suppose. Our chemist has offered to deliver, but I'm happy to go there and pick them up (about the only exercise I get these days). They'll also come and give us flu jabs if we want. But we're long-term customers, they mightn't do it for everyone. (So long term they recognise me when I walk in their door even with a mask on, a tribute to how much medicine I get from them.)

I always used to get my meds from Tesco Pharmacy and they would text to say meds are ready for collection, but they don't deliver, so when I was shielding last year, I had to arrange for someone to collect it for me. I didn't like having to do that, so as I'm shielding again, I decided to change to a pharmacy that delivers. Problem is, I live on my own, so if they come when I'm in the shower, what would they do?
No Barsel, Mr B gets his delivered , they just turn up ,a great service it is too
Barsel.......have your shower in the morning as they are unlikely to deliver until lunchtime at earliest.
Otherwise, they would come again later that day.
I'd imagine they'd have to re deliver it then Barsel as they wouldn't be allowed to leave it anywhere or with anyone, a quick phone call to them should get it sorted should you miss them xx
don't be silly, Sqad - everyone knows that the best way to ensure quick delivery is to have a shower; it'll always come when you're there and can't hear the bell.
Yes and no but it is always the day after I order the prescription
Our pharmacy send us a text saying when it will be delivered, which is helpful in normal circumstances, but as we are in 7 days a week now is a not really needed.

Ha ha jno . I've sometimes wondered if there is CCTV in my bathroom as someone always calls round or phones me when I'm in the shower or on the loo.
Perhaps I should phone the pharmacy to ask.
When I'm expecting a parcel from Hermes, they always email my with a 2 hour time slot for delivery. This must save them a lot of time doing this.
Lloyds pharmay in our Health Centre have delivered our meds. for about four years for free. Now they are going to charge £5 for the delivery.

Bakers Dozen, if there are 2 of you at home, then it's not a problem.

andres. I just automatically assumed it's free. Anyone else have to pay?
Ours don't charge yet.
barsel-----It's LLoyds pharmacy here . They have started to charge . They do have a leaflet on the door advertising a company called Ecco and they will deliver for free. The only way they do it though is through the post and that is not going to be reliable if the virus lasts for longer. Postmen are getting covid and there is a shortage of staff. Plus the fact that I don't really like the thought of drugs going through the post. You wouldn't think that would be allowed.
Echo^^^^ not Ecco.
My sister uses Boots who deliver through Royal Mail and she finds the service excellent. I am not sure what the difference is between using RM or a courier so far as "should it be allowed" goes? They say which day its coming and it comes with her usual postman (small parcel) although I guess if you get big items or a lot delivered they might use parcel force or a courier. She knows which day its coming (they email her) and she just waits until the delivery has been before she goes out/showers and so on. Surely if its an infrequent occurence (she gets 2 months at a time) and you know which day it will come, its not a huge deal to re arrange your day or skip the shower?
