Dog For Sale?
The poor man who lost his dog (due to old age).
He decided - after a few weeks - to look for another companion for himself, and began searching the ads in a local paper. Eventually, after some searching, he happened on an advert that stated "Mature dog for sale. Talks a lot - £10-00". He laughed at this and ignored it.
However, after a few weeks, he noticed the advert was still there and decided to give it a go.
He rang the number in the advert and spoke to the current owner (a man) who said "Yes, the dog can talk - and you're quite welcome to meet him". They arranged to meet at the mans house - which wasn't too far away.
He arrived and knocked on the door, to be greeted by the owner - who beckoned him in saying "The dog is in the garden. Go through to the back and I will leave you with him, as I am a bit busy at the moment."
The man went into the back garden to be met by the site of a golden retriever. He leaned forward and whispered "Can you talk?"
"Oh yes" the dog replied The man was stunned by this and stuttered "what? Well erm - what's your story, then?"
The retriever started to explain about how he had been able to talk all his life, and eventually, of course, the military got to hear about him.
"Naturally," the dog said "they employed me for all sorts of spying jobs in foreign countries. I would then slip out unnoticed, and make my way back to headquarters to make reports.
Unfortunately, I am a bit old now, so they pensioned me off, and here I am"
The man was staggered by this and went back into the house calling to the owner "I don't understand" he said, "You have a talking dog and only want "£10-00 for him?"
"Oh yes," the owner replied. "And I'll tell you why. That dog is the biggest liar ever! He's never once stepped outside of this back garden!"
