I'm sure there's already a thread on this.
To recap, this sort of censorship legislation is the type passed by puritan politicians who haven't a clue; so it's maybe unsurprising it's on the present lot's watch it raises it's head.
The only way to ensure age of a site visitor is by demanding things that no intelligent website users will give for reasons of privacy/safety.
Any technical block can be worked around and instructions will be all over social media as soon as anything like this goes ahead.
Those who can't be bothered getting around it will visit non-UK sites anyway, which UK national government has little jurisdiction or control over.
The pathetic, "think of the children", excuse clearly doesn't wash as, while sites should do what they can (which is near nothing of use) the responsibility for children is with their parents/guardians; but these days society apparently thinks they are incapable so can be excused.
