My rabbits's fur is coming out in great clumps leaving only a short fur growth beneath. Is this normal for this time of year? This did not happen last year.

It can be normal for them to shed at this time of year, especially after the summer we had.

If the shedding is not due to the hot weather. it could be due to stress or a skin condition.

If you think he/she is not well i suggest you take your rabbit for a check up.

My rabbit is doing to same exact thing. Tons of hair is coming out and short hair underneath. However this happened last year as well. I am pretty sure that it is normal though.
Hi, I had a very large "dwarf rabbit" until a few years back and was mortified when I noticed he was going bald coming up to xmas, apparently it is quite common though, so I wouldn't worry.
