scorpious the fast moving objects very high up were probably geostationary satellites.
Bear in mind UFO stands for UNIDENTIFIED flying object - i.e. not necessarily a spaceship from another planet.
It's easy to go over the top imagining there are alien spaceships visiting us. But with the number of supposed sightings, you have to wonder why - given how far we are from other solar systems - they're taking the trouble to come all the way over here without actually landing and saying hello. It's also no surprise or coincidence that sightings have drastically swollen in number since we started making sci-fi alien invasion films & TV shows. And when a popular comic book depicted aliens as the form we all know now, with grey skin/big eyes/thin necks etc, sightings started reporting that this was what the aliens looked like.
It always makes me chuckle and shake my head when people say it wasn't a plane, therefore it must have been a spaceship from another galaxy - immediately eliminating the dozens of other possible explanations.
I agree there's probably other intelligent life somewhere, but I don't think we're being visited by their spaceships.
