What do you do when you can't sleep at night........

Occasionally I go to bed and can't get to sleep, or sometimes I will sleep for a couple of hours then lay awake until the early hours. The other night I woke up about 3am. I remembered Jem's joke about the last visit to Tesco, I ended up reading my book for a couple of hours.

i am a terrible sleeper..usually get up watch recorded progs on hard drive for a bit..drink lots of camomile clean out cupboards..wish I knew the answer as I am always tired !

I'm lucky enough to be a good sleeper but occassionally if I do wake and can't get back to sleep, I go to bathroom and check if my tan is developing well and if it's not, I'll apply another layer. I find it quite relaxing cause it's like giving yourself a massage and I climb back into bed and fall asleep quickly.
I think I read before that you should get up and go downstairs for a while if you really can't sleep

I was up at 3am this morning ayg. I made a cuppa, got wrapped up and did 2 crosswords and tried to do The Times, but failed as always. Then I cleaned the kitchen windows and prepared dinner ....and then I went to work So, I'm a little knackered. It happens when I have silly things on my mind

Get up and watch telly.

Or read.

Or phone the BF and wake him up, too.

I've tried all sorts. When I used to smoke I would get up and make a cup of herbal or decaf tea and have a cigarette or two, maybe tackle some ironing. Now I try not to go downstairs.

I try that gran but I still can't sleep and I can't lie in bed if my mind's going ten to the dozen. Maybe you should try a good book.

JJ and 4get, I wouldn't dare wake mrA up, he'd go potty it happens too often. Do they complain?

I also try not to go downstairs.

My neighbours downstairs would be miffed if I woke them up.

I sleep like a log but my OH wakes in the night. Before reading this I never suspected her of foul play but now I know why I wake when she does.

He is one hour ahead of me, so I could pretend I hadn't realised what the time was, LOL.
