The first is wrong; it is TALK the hind leg off a donkey. The late humoirist/songwriter had a song about a boring woman where he used the phrrase over thirty years ago and it was common usage long before that. I think the song was caled On and On and On. The singer invented the simile that not only could she talk the hind legs off a donkey she could bore the balls off a buffalo
