that i am 'anal' about something? Meaning that I am particularly fastidious about details? Anal, sums it up perfectly, but I don't think it's very professional sounding!

i would stick with conscientious, it does what it says on the tin, or dictionary, sandy that's what they are for..

I'd say ";obsessive"; sums it up. ";Anal"; I agree is a word you might wish to avoid, but it has the benefit of conveying a sense of unwholesomeness. A conscientious attitude to something is not quite the same as an ";anal"; or ";obsessive"; one.
