When did the previously baby- talk word 'poo' become the accepted word? What did we call before? Granted that it took my mother 5 years to get me to say 'manure', so my version may not be polite, but 'turd', 'muck', 'mess' and 'faeces' are words without asterisks on here, I hope, and we all know 'crap' and 'Sugar' which may be acceptable sometimes

My mother used to refer to it as 'doing your duty'....duty/dooty then became a 'yucky' word in my young mind.

Number 2@s a poo or a big jobbie
You are all reminding me of Billy Connolly and his aircraft jobbie-wheaker... :-)
DO-DO when I was a child in Gloucestershire, BARKER when my son was a child in Australia. Both common words in those areas at that time.
That's reminded me-we said 'doo-doo' also in the States....also a 'dump'.
we talk about doggies' doodoos

My neighbour calls the dog-poo "treasures"
I can't remember it being discussed in our household, certainly not in front of the servants......

I can't even remember that we did that sort of thing above stairs, Shoots ;o)
I was thinking about this recently. We give out free dog waste bags at work and big bruiser hard men coming in asking for 'poo bags' always amuses me :-)
