This Is Doing My Head In ...............

I'm trying to recall a term used in poker when betting. This happened in a Blackpool casino a while ago. My friend had just lost quite a few hands, due to a combination of bad luck and poor betting.
He continued betting in his next few hands and one of the other people at the table said, "you're on the ******" ...... I can't remember what the missing word is.
Basically, if someone has just had a bad run and they continue to bet, in the hope of recouping some of their losses (a bad move overall), then they're said to be "on the *****" ...... what the freakin' 'ell is the missing word .... it's doing my head in ..........
