Dog's occlusion?

Hi What is the terminology for a protruding bottom jaw?

In Polish we call it a dog's occlusion. What is an English equivalent?

Occlusion is a dental term and never heard in speech - except of course at the dentist's. When the teeth are not right in the closed jaw, then there is a mal-occlusion. The upper teeth usually close in front of the lower jaw teeth and in a prognathous jaw, they dont. This [malocclusion] is called a cross-bite. In a cross-bit you cant grind the food properly. So you need orthodontic (=straight teeth) treatment.

I have heard it called undershot (when the lower jaw protrudes) overshot (when the upper jaw protrudes abnormally) and a parrot bite (when the edges of the teeth  meet

 hi, I've always heard it being called an over-bite.
