I think it's a frog.But there are lots of people from Scotland on here who may know exactly what it is.Watch this space!!

A puddock is a frog but is often used in some parts of Scotland to mean a toad. I've heard some people talk about puddock-stools but most Scots use it to mean frog and yes, Robert Burns did use this in his poetry. I don't have my Burns poetry book to hand to check right now. There is also a fairly well-known Scottish poem/song about the puddock. You can find the words on the following webpage:
