Hi, can anyone tell me what the word mosseltoff means? (not sure if spelling is accurate.)

As far as I know ( and I stand to be corrected!) it is a Yiddish word for "Good Luck", but as I am not Jewish I cannot give you a more accurate translation,hopefully someone else may!

I think it's spelt 'mazeltov' and like mystress I think it means 'Good luck'

Further to the previous answers:

The phrase mazel tov is a traditional Yiddish way to wish someone good luck, often used as a toast when drinking. It means "may your planetary influences be favorable" and, hence, derives from earlier beliefs in astrology.
