In order not to hijack Aschenbach's previous question, how many of you say "two thousand and five" and how many say "twenty 0 five"?
I say "two thousand and five".

I think English/British people tend to put "and" in long numbers, whereas Americans don't seem to do so - we say two hundred AND fifty, Americans (seem to) say two hundred fifty - at least from what I hear on the telly!
And SteveD, I have yet to hear anyone say twenty oh five - all two thousand and five round our way!
Its really seems to be dependant on the number I use two thousand and five at the moment but think I'll probably switch once we get into the tens i.e...
two thousand and nine.....twenty ten, twenty eleven.
If we are in the noughties now....what will we be in when we are in the tens?....guessing for 2020 we'll use the old term ' the twenties'
'The tens' just sounds odd.
