Not a happy bunny!

Where on earth did this phrase originate? Was it in a children's book? I will not be a happy bunny until I find out.

There's a Radio 4 quiz show called 'Quote...Unquote'. They, too, are constantly seeking the source of sayings such as 'Not a happy bunny'. In fact, if you click here you will be taken to the show's website. There, listed as No 1368, you will find your phrase amongst others stated to be "a hard core of queries that are still giving problems." All they have established is that it certainly existed in 1991, but they know no more about its provenance. Good luck and - if you do get the answer - let them know!

More common in the states is the phrase "Not a happy camper."  Don't know the origin either.

i'm guessing but i think this saying refers to someone jumping up and down like a bunny.
