According to Google, you're the only person to have ever said those words in that order on the internet.

Adolf was pretty big on animal rights though, so I'm sure some academic has used the phrase before.
To other animals, humans are just another species to be preyed on, annoy without barely trying, or to stay away from, as appropriate.
Hitler introduced a ban on fox-hunting in Germany which still stands today.

Well, someone said it (or similar), and I doubt if it was Mr Hilter. (Not really sure why he’s being dragged into this, by the way!)
Indeed, he's hardly ever mentioned when Gestapo pops up.
ooh, hapax legomenon, Mozz?
Isaac Bashevis Singer wrote: “To the animals, all people are Nazis; to the animals, life is an eternal Treblinka.”
Good find ABerrant.

ABerrant. Many thanks; that indeed must be the half-remembered quote. I am grateful to you.

A.
If you're talking about farmed animals - OK they eventually get slaughtered, but I don't think they are worked or starved to death or realise their ultimate fate as Nazi prisoners did so I don't think the comparison is at all accurate.

Davebro. (From Singer's Wikipedia page): He felt that the ingestion of meat was a denial of all ideals and all religions: "How can we speak of right and justice if we take an innocent creature and shed its blood?" When asked if he had become a vegetarian for health reasons, he replied: "I did it for the health of the chickens."

Yes, of course there are obvious differences, but surely Singer's essential point is undeniable. And as for animals not knowing what's coming, don't you believe it. Animals know (sense) far more than most humans realise.

Visit an ordinary farm or slaughterhouse waiting area and feel the tension.
