Cars that end with 'A'

Why do so many car manufacturers choose to name models ending with 'A' e.g. Astra, Fiesta, Primera, Laguna and is this habit mirrored with any other product. Washing powders ending with 'F'?

Possibly because words ending in A are feminine in several European languages, and many women's names end in A. Much of the advertising and marketing of cars is based on their "masculine" aggressive qualiies of speed, power and stamina; so perhaps the manufacturers wish to temper that macho image with a softer name, so as to get the best of both worlds.

I've heard that it is to present a sexy Italian feel to the name.

More than that can you think of a current car that doesn't end with a vowel. there probably are some but htey are in the minorty

There are lots of vehicles that don't end with a vowel- Sebring, Mustang, Focus, Neon, Intrepid, Ram...I can think of just as many that don't end in a vowel as I can that do!

Yes, I can too Tarea, but I am guessing that you are in the US like me? The car names are different in the UK.  Anyone in the UK know of cars there that don't end in 'a'?
