I do, OH is quite happy and oblivious to what goes out and comes in , he never knew he’d had his £100 heating allowance last year till I told him I’d spent it :0)
Or now if you’re on your own, did you used to ? And then find it hard to do ?
no i have always looked after my own, Mr Em once cheekily suggested with my wages and his pension we would do very well..... we weren't married by the way but were together quite a long while.
When we got married, we got paid into our own accounts, and both put money into a JA to cover the bills, and kept our own accounts to spend on ourselves.
When we moved to current house we went fully joint
However, I do the day to day management, he just does the spending. Luckily on my phone I have the app from the bank which tells me immediately when something is spent and where. When he comes in I can say "I see you went to starbucks and spent £3.40" :) I also have my "running away fund" which he does not know about
I do. Everything -bill paying, all Business Admin, Tax Returns both Business and Personal, Insurances the lot. He hasn't a clue how much we pay per month for this or that. I don't mind, though if I went, he'd have to hire an accountant I think, as he hasn't a clue.
In previous relationships I’ve been in charge of finances because otherwise the clueless idiots would have bought computer games and t shirts instead of paying the electricity bill.
Now, husband makes the deals and gets discounts while I do the actual online payments.
