How do you pronounce Droitwich?

Can anyone gove me any clues as to how to pronounce
"Droitwich" It would help to settle an arguement at home!

Say 'droy twitch'.


That should be near enough, having lived only a few miles away.

Dr-oy-t-witch as far as I know.
danube explained it better than me! I meant exactly the same though.
How else would it be pronounced? How come you are having an argument about it? I am curious that anybody might think it was anything other than d-r-oy-t-w-itch.

The only slight variation is that the t gets replaced by a glottal stop, if that's the word.


Suppose someone could mistakenly think the droit bit was pronounced as in French

Perhaps becca meant was it Droyt witch or Droy twich with the emphasis on different syllables. (This only works if said in that irritating twang!)
