Today's dingbat is the word eyesore followed by a drawing of a luggage label with the female gender sign inside attached to the word there written vertically.

Trying to work out what the luggage label has to do with it

Hi Elliemay1, I suspect it has absolutely nothing to do with the answer whatsoever! Possibly a very, very tenuous link to the word "standing" by having the symbol high up and attached to the word there. I often give up trying to work out why the answer's the answer to cryptic clues / dingbats in our local rag.
