Today, I got my second Business management assignment and I am stuck on a question can anyone help?

You’re the general manager of a five-star hotel in the inner city. You normally wear a suit and tie and conduct business quite formally. The chef and food and beverage manager have asked you to accompany them to a rural farm to negotiate with a product supplier who can deliver fresher vegetables directly to the kitchen.
Do you need to change your approach in this situation? If not, explain why not. If so, explain why and describe how you might change

No idea what the correct answer is, I suspect it may depend more on the justifications given. My gut feeling is, no. You need to appear a professional so look the part. It's your attitude and manner that mostly dictates the other's reaction (unless you have prior knowledge that they are as shallow as heck).

Yes you do need to change your approach as a suit and tie is not suitable attire for a farm visit. The correct approach is to show flexibility and ability to adapt to the situation. The manager should wear smart jeans, wellies and a big warm jacket fit an outdoor appointment. That way they are ready to look round the farm and not mind one bit if they get dirty. The chef won’t go in their chef whites will they?
Equally when the deal is done and the farmer comes for his complementary lunch at the hotel, he will not be wearing his muddy boots or flat cap but will have brushed up nicely for the occasion.

The question is about recognising when and how to adapt to situations.
