Does anyone know the source for this quote by George Washington (Patten?)? "If we must perish in the fight, oh! let us die like men!"

During the American Civil War, the Confederate General Patrick Cleburne said to Brigadier General D. C. Govan, 'If we are to die, let us die like men.'

Patten was a career officer in the United States Army before, during, and after the Civil War. He was the author and/or editor of several military manuals of the period, but he was also a published poet and collector of verse, etc, of the American Indians he encountered on frontier service. The quoted line comes from the poem "Come Let Us Die Like Men" which he wrote and the complete text can be found online at the collection hosted by the University of Toronto at http://rpo.library.utoronto.ca/poem/3210.html
