On journeys I often smile at the funny stickers people put on car windows. (They shouldn't, it obscures the view, but some make thought provoking reading. Here are a few I recall seeing over the years:

Do unto others - then run away.
Conserve Energy - make love slower.
Join the Army, meet people - and kill them...
Owing to lack of interest, tomorrow has been cancelled.
Once there was hope for the working man...
Have you seen any others lately?

Yes, I know people might think "If you can read the sticker then you are too close," and I agree with that, but I am only meaning when one is behind cars at traffic lights, stationary, and they can easily be seen.
Not on the motorway, heaven forbid!
These used to be all the rage in the US at one time:

I remember:

save trees - eat squirrels
I want to live long enough to be a problem to my kids

then there were all the "my other car's a ..."

Oh, they are still quite popular in the states, only we put them on the bumpers, not in the windows.

A few years ago, schools started giving out bumper stickers to students who got good enough grades to be on the Honor Roll. Stickers said "My child is an honor student at ___ School." This prompted backlash, such as "My kid can beat up your honor student" and "My (insert breed of dog) is smarter than your honor student."

This car is not locked. The key is under the dog. (Large doberman sat on front seat)

foulecamp, Kingaroo and dzug, thanks so much for your answers, and all your examples are really funny.

Another more politically intended one I saw recently was:
Queen Tony rules - and its NOT o.k !

Do people have amusing political bumper-stickers in the United States?

Thanks again for your comments. Best wishes.

The best ever, surely, wasn't a bumper/window sticker but the slogan:

Patel & Patel
Builders
"You've tried the cowboys, now try the Indians"

Excellent, BigMac.
Do you remember, after there had been trouble with the French dockers striking and causing British lorry drivers holdups for days, there were stickers and graffiti about saying:

French dockers rule au quai.

I thought that phrase summed it up cleverly.

Best wishes, BigMac.

Great replies, had a chuckle at all your examples, and thanks for letting us all see them. It is good to have a laugh - as they say, 'it takes less muscles to smile than to frown'.
