I wonder whether - going on the sound only - you are referring to the Irish version of the name 'Brian'. Here, in Britain, we pronounce it as 'Bry - an' and in Ireland, they pronounce it as 'Bree - an'...roughly how your word would sound. If that is what you are asking, the name's meaning in Gaelic/Celtic is along the lines of 'high/noble/strong'.
