Any comment AB Ed ?
[Mike - this is the first time, as far as I know, that someone has tried to reproduce Cyrillic script on this site. Whether it is a problem with your (or my) computer or with the server, a problem it remains. I will ask the techies. - AB Editor]

Just to clarify the techie bit - this is not a problem with this site or anybody's computer. if you have a standard English language installation of windows, the encoding default is central european and has no cyrillic letters in it. This can be changed for individual pages by going to view, encoding, cyrillic(windows), or whatever encoding you need. This is under the tools menu on earlier versions of IE. The only way to get full compatibility if you are likely to use cyrillic a lot is to change the regional settings in control panel.
Thanks smorodina. I changed to cyrillic to type the Russian bit, then back to Western European for the rest.
I now have to go back to cyrillic to see the Russian bit, but when I move on it defaults to W. European. I know I'm not up to speed with you, so please be patient. Is there a way that I can use both on the same page so that they are both readable?
I assume you installed the Russian keymap to type in Russian. The codepages are the same for the latin characters, so the Russian codepage should display English correctly (apart from a few symbols like the pound sign). If you need to use Russian regularly, you can right click on the IE symbol, go to properties, and on the language button install and set Russian as default. Then if you surf any Russian pages you should see the characters correctly. It gets more complicated if you want to use Russian in Word, as there are several different and incompatible codepages. Apart
from the ubiquitous Tatu there are loads of great Russian rock and pop bands and loads of sites to download mp3s, both Russian and English bands. Have fun!
