'Think forever.' What do these two words in the phrase mean?

For example, Person A might say: "My wife has gone", to which Person B might reply: "For how long?" Person A might then come back with: "Think forever", suggesting that B should think in terms of 'for all time' rather than 'for a couple of weeks', say.
In the same way someone might say to an underconfident team-mate: "Think victory" or to a budding businessman: "Think profit."
In all three cases, the key-word would be in real or theoretical quotation marks. I didn't use these earlier, as there were too many of the wretched things around already! So, here goes: Think 'forever'.
