hi,
i heard that expression a few years ago
in an old irish song called.
( two shalaylee o sullivan )
"Yippie-aye-ay" was a joyful shout, especially associated with cowboys and cowboy-type songs...Frankie Laine comes to mind, for example. The basic word, 'yippee', was just a shout of joy or excitement as in "Yippee! We're off to the circus today!"
