"Domo arigato, Mr. Yamato" It comes from a 1983 concept album by US band Styx called Kilroy Was Here, and a (US) hit single called Mr Roboto. The phrase caught on and has appeared not least in a Barenaked Ladies song and at lest one comic. (I promise I'm not a fan of Styx - or concept albums -- but uncovered this via the Internet!)
"Domo arrigato" is Japanese for 'Thank you very much'. The lyric is "Domo arrigato Mr Robato, for doing the job that nobody wants to ...." and I'm not a Styx fan either, that comes from memory - I saw it on a Jonathan King prog. in his 'Entertainment USA' series years ago.
I will add Origato is actually Portuguese. The Japanese had no word for thank you and picked up the Portuguese 'Obligado'. Origato is how they pronounce it in Japanese.
