How many words are there in the English language that you would expect to be 2 or more words but their actual one. Eg. Moreover, albeit, nevertheless, afforesaid/afforementioned, I have thought of more but cant remember them right now. Thanks.

Hi Paulo, well nevertheless should be 3 words. I thought, broadsword, narrowboat, underground, thinking in twos; why is it called a pair of knickers when ther'es only one? and a bra, when it's clearly a pair? oh, more two-words; mousetrap, pushchair, bookkeeper, menswear, manslaughter, brainstorm..
Yeah plugh...a pair of compasses?...nevermore is the only one i can come up with right now.
