I'm appealing to you, my fellow ABers, to be my online thesaurus :-) Does anyone know another word for "the elements" - as in earth, wind, rain and fire. I've searched online thesauruses (is that even a word lol?) but they've come up with nothing. They all seem to think I mean elements as in factors of something. Please help!

Hello, I can't think of a one word alternative. The best I can come up with is the term 'natural forces'. Sorry if this doesn't help you at all.
humours?
If you mean Fire, Earth, Wind and Water, then these are often called the Classical (or Ancient Greek) Elements.

In ancient Greece they were known as stoicheion.
Essentials? As in the 5th element Quintessential.
