It comes from the (Very) early morning show on Radio 2 where this has become a catchphrase....you would have to be a listener to get the meaning.

I am a frequent listener to the Alex Lester show on BBC radio 2 and feel I can awnser this question" In the beginning we truckers used to write"Alex Lester 3 till 6 best time of the day show! BBC Radio 2, 88 to 91 FM" to promote his great early morning show. SLAP MY TOP! is a catchprase he has chosen because nobody else was useing it at the time! he has a good website [email protected] also one on the BBC radio 2 homepage where you can listen to the show on-line.
