Any idea where this comes from, is it to do with candles?

It is believed that this comes from the rhyming slang Hampton Wick, whereby 'Hampton' is used to refer to one name for a part of the male anatomy which rhymes with 'wick'! As such, it is just a variant of the other similar phrase in which one says something or somebody "gets on my.....'"and the next four-letter plural word refers to parts of a woman's upper anatomy.

It's just a shame that one even has to go in for these shenanigans, in order to make a point because of the over-zealous censor settings. I'm always reminded of Les Dawson, in apron and headscarf and hitching up his ample bosom, whilst leaning over the garden fence and talking about bodily features!

Many years ago, when working as a Work Study Man. I had to study the job being performed by a young man of about 19 or 20.
