when ben is twice as old as he is now,he will be three times as old as he was three years ago. how old is ben now?and who is my father's only child's daughter's brother? and why is 't'like an island?

Last one - your father's only child is you - therefore your daughter's brother is your son, or your father's grandson (I think :>)

Let a=Ben's age. Then 2a=3(a-3). Therefore 2a=3a-9, therefore 0=a-9, therefore a=9. Algebra is dead easy, really.
