Breasts up

Ok had to change the words, its obviously not Breasts but the palindrome including two T's and one I. But anyone know the origin? 'the plan went breasts up'?

It's probably derived from the more polite phrase, "belly up". When certain animals die i.e fish, they sometimes float with their stomachs upwards and to say a plan went "belly up", would signify that it ended in an undignified or unsatisfactory way.
