Sussex people will not be told what to do, they are co-operative rather than obedient
I'd guess, 'druv' is a local dialect version of the past participle of 'drive'...ie 'driven'. Hence, they won't be driven or forced to do anything, as Woofgang says. Like all such relatively boastful local claims, I'm sure that Lancastrians and Devonians and Cumbrians and Uncle Tom Cobleigh and all would say exactly the same applies to them, too! 'I did it my way' is probably still the favourite funeral tune asked for.
