I have my own thoughts on this (and a story to go with it explaining why) but I'd prefer to wait and see what you good people come up with.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I have trawled through my Oxford dictionary of Quotations and sorry to say it's not listed in the book anywhere nor will google match it at all with anything......I have a few other quotation dictionaries and I will peruse those but you may find this one quite hard to marry up to one person definitely but I second their thoughts.
I know this is not the exact quoation, but the idea is alike:
'If you strike a child take care that you strike it in anger, even at the risk of maiming it for life'. It goes on: ' A blow in cold blood neither can nor should be forgiven'. Man and Superman (1903) Maxims for Revolutionists: How to Beat Children' The Oxford Dictionary of modern Quoations.
I'm glad my mom never read that book.:)
