For me it would be:
hello: "hiya"
goodbye: "cheerio"

It depends. If it's to someone I know, no matter how vaguely, I greet them with 'Hi, how's it going?'. If it's a stranger I just happen to be walking past I'll just say 'morning' or whatever time of day we're at with a nod of my head. Unless I'm back over in Switzerland, when it's phonetically 'grutze'.
For goodbyes, it's always (as I've just been reliably informed by Mr NiceCuppa) 'good luck' or 'see you later' even when it's to complete strangers who I never will (see late I mean). Why I'm not sure, but hey.
