You're up early Quizzy! I trust you implicitly, but is it more accurate than 'Veritas et Fidelis' or 'Fides et Fidelis' as a colleague has suggested (dredged up from School Latin)?

I'm no Latin expert, but I'd translate your first suggestion as 'Truth and faithful' and the second as 'Faith and faithful', neither of which really seems to hang together, H.

Dear Worder, the suffix 'que' has precisely the same effect as the word 'et' in Latin. One of the most famous of acronyms is 'SPQR', which was borne aloft by Rome's legions. It stood for 'Senatus Populusque Romanus', meaning 'The Senate and People of Rome'. Hence, your suggestion is not 'wrong', but it is no more right - perhaps even a little less right in a 'motto'-type situation - than mine. Cheers
