What is managing partner?

In a business context, I think a Managing Partner is like a Managing Director, but in a partnership rather than a limited compeny. Partnerships by definition don't have directors, they have partners, so the Managing Partner is the boss. Large firms can have hundreds of partners. Note: a partnership is a normal status for lawyers, solicitors, dentists and doctors, and the business profits are shared out amongst the partners.

I think he is the head of Managemnet in Partnership ltd., (not a Comapny Limited).
Who operate and handle the management, but not necessary, he sould invest some capital in the Company.
