What is the correct neutral wording for 'Air Hostess' and 'Master of Ceremonies'

After all, the only alternative would be 'Mistress'...not a word kindly accepted by ladies nowadays! (For example, the mind boggles as to what a "Mistress of Foxhounds" might be up to!)
When the Chaimanship of the Tory Party was in the hands of Theresa May, I understand that she insisted that she be referred to as 'Chairman' and not as 'Chairwoman', presumably realising that so-called correctness can be taken to ridiculous lengths.
